Calgary criminal defence lawyer, Karen Molle graduated in 1985 from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology and from the University of Victoria Law School in 1988.
In 1989, Ms. Molle began her legal career at the Department of Justice in Winnipeg as a prosecutor until she moved to Calgary in 2001, where she continued to prosecute on behalf of the Federal Crown. As a prosecutor, Ms. Molle has been lead counsel in a number of complex cases in all level of court in Manitoba and Alberta.
In 2006, Ms. Molle started her own Calgary criminal defence practice. Ms. Molle’s interests are in the areas of drug, proceeds of crime litigation, cases involving the Charter of Rights and Freedoms as well as Forfeiture and Extradition cases. Ms. Molle brings a unique set of skills to defending her clients. In 2010, Ms. Molle's was instrumental in obtaining a substantial cost award against the Alberta Government for its unwarranted attempt to seize the home of a Calgary citizen. The Court ordered the Crown to pay "full indemnification", which included legal costs for its attempt to seize the home based upon little solid evidence.
